Northern Pathway, Westhaven to Akoranga

2020 - present
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency

The Westhaven to Akoranga section of the Northern Pathway is part of the Government’s NZ Upgrade Programme aimed at getting our cities moving, saving lives and boosting productivity. The project provides a dedicated walking and cycling connection between Auckland’s city centre and the North Shore, delivering a critical missing link in Auckland’s walking and cycling network. This section of the pathway includes the link across the Waitematā harbour.

Our team worked closely with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and their suppliers, Beca and Chapman Tripp, during design development, preparation of planning consent applications and procurement of an alliance to deliver the detailed design and construction of the pathway.

In the roles of Project Director and Deputy Project Director, Tristan Lees-Baker and Catherine Schollar were responsible for the successful delivery of the project objectives through this critical phase including governance reporting, team leadership and establishing appropriate project controls.

In addition, Tristan was the lead evaluator during the procurement of the alliance and provided advisory support services during the Interim Project Alliance Agreement phase.
